Temporary Road Closure and Power Outage - Chimney Rock Village

Main Street in Chimney Rock Village (64/74A) is temporarily closed on 8-15-23 at 12AM due to a fallen tree.  The closure is near Buena Vista. 

The Chimney Rock Volunteer Fire Department responded and they are working with Duke Energy and the NC Department of Transportation (NCDOT) to address the issues. A large tree has fallen on power lines and several poles require replacement.

Unfortunately, several homes and businesses will be without power until repairs can be made. Updates will be provided as new information becomes available. The Duke Energy Power Outage Map may be accessed at the following link: https://outagemap.duke-energy.com/#/current-outages/ncsc

Please use caution and call 9-1-1 for any emergencies. 

Update 8-15-22 at 7:00AM: TWe are pleased to report that the road is now open, though many are still without power.
