Come See Us in Lake Lure!
The Town of Lake Lure is open and welcoming visitors. Please be aware that we are still undergoing recovery efforts so you will see work taking place around town and on the Lake. You may have to pause for trucks or workers at times but the views are worth the wait.
There are a number of attractions that are open in the area. Check out Places to Stay in the area for hotels, lodges, bed & breakfasts, establishments are open for business! Please visit the area and encourage others to visit as well.
There is so much to do here from zip lining, horseback riding, escape rooms, rock climbing, hiking, bird watching, and just taking it easy and enjoying the beauty of nature that surrounds us here.

The Town has been approved for a grant for a replacement playground which will be placed in Morse Park in October. Stay tuned for some exciting upcoming events that will be held in this area in the coming months.
Ongoing work is also taking place at Buffalo Creek Park, Weed Patch Mountain and Upper Boulder Trails by the National Guard, Carolina Climbers Coalition, Rutherford Outdoor Coalition, EcoForesters and AmeriCorps. We cannot thank them enough for their time and support!

Lake Lure is just 14 miles from I 26: At the first exit in North Carolina, Exit #67 (Columbus and Highway 108), turn right onto Highway 108 East. Follow 108 East for approximately 6 miles to the intersection of Highway 108 and Highway 9 (a traffic stoplight). Turn left onto Highway 9 North. Go 14 miles to the stop sign (Lake Lure will be in front of you).

Highway 64/74A Between Lake Lure and Chimney Rock Village: As of June 2025, Highway 64/74A between Lake Lure and Chimney Rock Village is closed as a result of the impacts of Hurricane Helene. The road is only open to locals. For questions please contact Chimney Rock Village.
