Hazardous Weather Outlook - Monday, 8/7/23

The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for northeast Georgia, piedmont North Carolina, western North Carolina, and upstate South Carolina for Monday, 8/7/23 in the afternoon and tonight.

* Widespread severe thunderstorms are likely this afternoon and evening ahead of a cold front approaching from the west.
* Damaging winds are expected to be the main threat with these storms, but large hail and a couple of isolated tornadoes will be possible as well.
* Any thunderstorm will be capable of producing torrential downpours, gusty winds, and frequent cloud-to-ground lightning.
* Please use caution and call 9-1-1 for any emergencies.
