Yesterday’s storm drenched our community and left a wake of property damage and power outages. Saturated soils, coupled with strong wind gusts, caused trees to fall damaging the electric system across the region.

Duke Energy crews made good progress restoring power late yesterday as the storm left the region. Damage assessment is still underway. Today, crews will work as quickly and safely as possible to restore electricity to homes and businesses.
