No open burning is permitted inside Town of Lake Lure, NC limits. Burning permits will not be issued inside Town limits until we receive significant rainfall.

Please report any smoke that you see by calling 911.

The National Weather Service has issued the following Hazardous Weather Outlook for Western North Carolina.

Today and tonight, Wednesday, 1/29/25: Increased Fire Danger.

Gusty northwest winds at 15 to 25 mph with gusts of 40 to 45 mph are expected through this afternoon, especially at elevations of 3500 feet and higher. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages are possible.
