Slick Roads and Black Ice This Morning, Saturday, 1/11/25

The National Weather Service reports that temperatures remain below freezing across much of our area this morning, creating dangerous driving conditions due to slick roads and patches of black ice. 
⚠️ Primary roads are mostly clear, but secondary roads remain frozen and hazardous 
⚠️ Bridges, overpasses, and shaded areas are particularly hazardous and may remain icy even as temperatures begin to rise. 
 ⚠️ If you must travel, use extreme caution, drive slowly, and leave plenty of distance between your vehicle and others. 
 ⚠️ Delaying non-essential trips until conditions improve will help keep you and others safe. Please share this information to ensure our community stays informed. 

Town of Lake Lure, NC Crews plowed roads yesterday evening and will begin plowing the roads again this afternoon.
