The Town of Lake Lure Welcomes New Town Clerk - Elba Willette
Elba Willette joined the Town of Lake Lure on May 28, 2024, and was sworn in as the new Town Clerk. Her last position before being hired in the Town of Lake Lure was at the Rutherford County Courthouse in the Estates and Probates Division. She has worked in the legal field for 20 years. She has experience in all aspects of the law and went back to college to obtain an Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies in 2020. When asked about her education she stated, “It’s never too late to achieve your dreams!”
Mrs. Willette was born in Nicaragua and moved to the United States at the age of 8 years old. She grew up in Miami, Florida and moved to Raleigh, NC in 2009. She then relocated to Rutherford County NC with her husband and children in 2010.
Her husband served in the 82nd Airborne Division for the US Army for 10 ½ years. He was in five combat deployments and is a retired Veteran. Her oldest children both served in the military as well, one in the US Navy and the other one in the US Army. Her youngest child is 10 years old and she says he keeps her very busy when she is not working.
