Sunset Cove (North) Property Owners Meeting - September 18, 2023
The Sunset Cove Property Owners Community Meeting was held on Monday, September 18, 2023. Property owners participated in person and via zoom.
Mayor Carol Pritchett introduced the panel:
- Hank Perkins, Town Manager, Town of Lake Lure
- Mike Dydula, PE, Project Manager, Town of Lake Lure
- Brian R. Houston, PE, LEED AP, DBIA, LaBella Associates
- Gary Johanik, Project Manager, Ruby Collins
Project Manager Mike Dydula provided an overview of the project and the work completed last year with input from Brian Houston and Gary Johanik.
Brian Houston presented a slide presentation and you may download the slides.
- The panel provided an overview of the work planned for 2024.
- It was noted that no boats will have to be removed for the work that is planned in the winter of 2024.
- It was noted that the lake will be drawdown beginning 1/1/24.
- The lake will be lowered by 12 feet.
- The plan is to begin refilling the lake on 3/31/24.
- Restoring the lake to full pond is dependent upon the weather and the rain.
