Important Lake Level Update - September 3, 2023, Updated September 4, 2023

Please note that the Town of  Lake Lure is in the process of lowering the lake to 988.50, 1 foot below the Town's normal operating levels. The generators are being utilized to slowly lower the lake so crews can make repairs to a sewer line where Lake water is entering the system. 

The leak occurred as a result of a damaged seawall near manhole #11 on Moffitt Road. Crews will continue to work to repair the leak as soon as possible. Updates will be provided as soon as additional information becomes available.

Update- September 4, 2023: The Lake will need to be lowered an additional foot to complete the work that needs to be done. The Lake will be lowered to 987.5 so crews can make the necessary repairs.  Updates will be provided as soon additional information becomes available.
