Lake Lure Classical Academy Middle School Shop Class Visits Lake Lure Dam

The Lake Lure Classical Academy Shop Class had the unique opportunity to tour the Lake Lure Dam this week and learn about the operations there. Fire Chief Dustin Waycaster of the Lake Lure Fire Department and Randy Rollins, Hydro Supervisor for the Dam, gave the class a tour of the operations. A highlight of the trip was learning about the century-old generators that are still used today to generate electricity. Many thanks to Chief Waycaster and Mr. Rollins for the tour!
