Duke Energy Hurricane Ian Preparations in NC
The Duke Energy meteorologists have been watching Hurricane Ian and are monitoring the situation as the storm made landfall near Fort Myers earlier this afternoon. They are already seeing significant impacts to the Florida Duke Energy service area and Ian could also impact North Carolina, depending on its path. In advance of any storm, Duke Energy crews and resources are located strategically near areas that will likely be affected – allowing for safe, quick response after a storm passes through.
Prepared to Respond
Duke Energy's first priority with local crews is serving local communities. They are keeping crews in place in North Carolina to ensure they have adequate resources to respond to potential impacts from Ian as it passes through the state.
