TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE/POWER OUTAGE:

Please note that there are several roads that are temporarily closed due to fallen trees taking out power lines and poles. The roads will be closed until the situation can be safely addressed. Duke Energy is in town working to resolve the issues as soon as possible. The known roads that are currently blocked include: Memorial Hwy near the Washburn Marina, Boys Camp Road, Youngs Mountain Dr., Mark Twain Dr. (off of Seton Rd). Additional updates will be posted as new information becomes available. Please stay tuned for updates from the Town of Lake Lure, NC.

8/17/21 5:39 PM Update: Memorial Highway near the Washburn Marina is now open. Boys Camp Road is now open. .8-18-21 Update: we have been advised that 64 / 74 / 9 is open on the Rutherford County side. Additionally, Mark Twain Rd. and Youngs Mountain Drive are open.

8/18/21 10:30 AM Update: We have been advised that the Hwy 9 heading from Lake Lure toward Columbus and Interstate 26 is clear. We have been advised that there is still a road closure on Hwy 64/74 from Bat Cave to Hendersonville and that it could take some time to open this road. We apologize for any inconvenience. Crews are on the scene in Henderson County working to clear the roadways. As additional information becomes available we will provide updates.
