Updated Hazardous Weather Outlook
The National Weather Service has issued an updated Hazardous Weather Outlook on 9/29/22. This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northeast Georgia, piedmont North Carolina, western North Carolina and upstate South Carolina.
DAY ONE: Today and tonight. Hazardous weather is not expected at this time.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN: Friday through Wednesday. Tropical Storm Ian is expected to track into South Carolina Friday, weakening as its remnants track northwest toward Upstate South Carolina and western North Carolina. Widespread moderate to heavy rainfall and gusty northeasterly winds are expected Friday through Saturday. There is still some uncertainty in the exact track and timing of this system. Continue to monitor the forecast for updates through the week.
The Town of Lake Lure, NC is proactively lowering the lake in preparation for incoming rain. Be sure to secure boats and outdoor belongings due to increased winds. Please review the hurricane preparedness checklist at the following link:
