Thankful for Veterans

Mayor Pritchett with Honor Guard

Thankful for Veterans! On November 11, 2022 Mayor Carol Pritchett welcomed over 160 attendees to the Town of Lake Lure, NC Veterans Day Program. We are thankful to the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Honor Guard for Posting the Colors during the program and to all those who participated in this memorable program.

The National Anthem was beautifully led by Ms. Katherine Cox and a poignant  invocation was given by Pastor Kevin Anderson, USN (Ret).  Our host, Mr. Jeff Geisler, General Manager for Rumbling Bald on Lake Lure provided meaningful opening remarks. Rutherford County Commissioner David Hunt shared a special message about Veterans and the importance of honoring Veterans and their families.

Ms. Katherine Cox sang a riveting rendition of "God Bless the USA."   An amazing tribute to Veterans was performed by Lake Lure Classical Academy Music Ensemble, led by their gifted Music Teacher Mrs. Peggy Hill. Veterans stood and sang the Armed Forces Salute for their respective branch of service.

Everyone enjoyed a delicious breakfast
prepared by Legends Restaurant. Veteran Photos were taken by Buddy  Morrison, USA Airborne Medic (Ret) B. You may visit the following link to see all of the photos and Verans may download their photos:  https://buddymorrisonphotography.pixieset.com/veteransdayphotos/

Special thanks to the Lake Lure Lions Club for their support of the event.
