The Town of Lake Lure, is pleased to report that on this ominous day (3/27/25) 6 month’s to the date...post Helene, we had a successful test of the reservoir drain valve!

Special thanks to Schnabel Engineering, Morgan Corporation, and the Town of Lake Lure Public Services Department for the excellent construction of the Lake Lure Dam reservoir drain valve.

This project was slated to be completed in October 2024 and was delayed significantly due to the hurricane.

We are very thankful to have this safety mechanism in place.
