Storm Update - Friday, September 27, 2024, 7:00PM

After a very challenging day, we have a bit of positive news in Lake Lure. The water is no longer rising and is beginning to recede. 
Engineers are evaluating the dam and updates will be provided as additional information becomes available. 

Town staff have been going door-to-door downstream to check on people. The hard work of clearing roads is underway. Much of 64/74 is blocked with many downed trees and power lines. 

Please note that cell service throughout the Town of Lake Lure has been extremely difficult. If you have been unable to reach some, this may be the reason
