Lake Lure Lake Levels - February 2025
Lake Lure is currently about 2.0 feet below full pond at approximately 988.5(+/-). The Town of Lake Lure has been maintaining the lake at this level for optimum debris removal in coordination with the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and contractors.
A change in lake levels will occur over the weekend and into next week for sewer system repairs. The lake will be lowered by an additional 2 feet, to approximately 986.5, or about 4 feet below full pond. The Lake will remain at this level until repairs are completed.
Once repairs are made, the plan is to raise the lake back up to optimum debris removal levels. The Town will continue working with the USACE and contractors to make these lake level determinations. At this time, the plan is to raise the lake back to approximately 988.5. Significant changes to lake levels will be posted in Town News.
2/10/25 Update
Lake Lure was not lowered this past weekend as divers were continuing to work on the reservoir drain project which required stable lake levels. Lake Lure is currently about 2.0 feet below full pond at approximately 988.6.
Lake levels will continue to be closely monitored in preparation for forecasted rain in the coming days. A change in Lake Levels will occur overnight. The current plan is to lower the lake by approximately one foot to 987.5. Further changes in Lake Levels may be required to support sewer system repairs in the coming days. Updates will be posted here as Lake Levels are assessed during and after the upcoming rain event.
