Lake Drawdown 12/25/23

Lake Lure’s current lake level is 989.92 mean sea level (MSL), the lower end of the normal operating range. With the potential for large amounts of rainfall and in order to maintain the safety of the construction site for the reservoir drain project at the dam, the Lake will be drawn down to 989 MSL by 12/25/23.  
 

12/26/23 Update: The Town of Lake Lure is  currently under a Flash Flood Watch. 

Earlier this morning, the lake level reached 990.50 MSL.  The Town opened one of the Tainter Gates to maintain the lake level with the increased rain levels.  The lake level is  at 990.30 MSL as of 8:30 AM.
