The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for our area on Tuesday, 7/26/22. This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for western North Carolina, the northern Upstate of South Carolina.
DAY ONE: Today and tonight.
- Scattered thunderstorms will develop this afternoon, with the greatest coverage being over the mountains.
- Cloud-to-ground lightning, gusty winds, and heavy downpours will be possible with any of these storms.
- Conditions will again be favorable for a few of the storms to produce brief damaging winds.
- Localized flash flooding may develop, especially where storms repeatedly move over the same area, or where heavy rain fell Monday.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN: Wednesday through Monday.
- A localized risk of damaging winds and flash flooding will return with thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon.
- The threat for flooding may gradually increase over the next few days, with soils in some places becoming increasingly saturated following multiple heavy downpours.
