Hazardous Weather Outlook
The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for northeast Georgia, western North Carolina and upstate South Carolina.
Please listen to NOAA Weather Radio or go to weather.gov on the Internet for more information about the following hazards.
- There is a Flood Watch including showers with embedded thunderstorms which are expected to increase in coverage as they track across the region this afternoon into tonight in advance of a cold front.
- A few thunderstorms will become strong to severe with damaging wind gusts and isolated tornadoes being the main threats.
- Localized flash flooding is also possible where repeated heavy downpours track, mainly this evening into the overnight.
- Strong gusty winds can also be expected across the ridgetops through tonight as a cold front moves through.
