Cold Weather Advisory- January 20, 2025
The National Weather Service has issued the following update:
COLD WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO NOON EST MONDAY.
WHAT: Very cold wind chills as low as zero expected.
WHERE: Portions of northeast Georgia, western North Carolina, and Upstate South Carolina.
WHEN: From midnight tonight to noon EST Monday.
IMPACTS: Cold wind chills as low as zero could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS: Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN: Monday through Saturday. Please listen to NOAA Weather Radio or go to weather.gov on the Internet for more information about the following hazards. Cold Weather Advisory. The arctic air mass will remain in place through Wednesday. Some higher elevations of the North Carolina mountains will not see temperatures rise back above freezing until potentially Saturday. The potential for snow Tuesday into Tuesday night remains highly uncertain.
