Chances Are - We May See More Snow in Lake Lure on Friday
Please prepare for a chance of snow on Friday, 1/28/22. According to the National Weather Service, a low pressure system moving past off the coast will bring light precipitation that should change from rain to snow across the mountains Friday afternoon and across the northern Upstate of South Carolina and the foothills and western Piedmont of North Carolina Friday evening.
A light accumulation is snow is likely, particularly over the western Piedmont of North Carolina and northern Upstate, including the Charlotte metro area. No significant accumulation is expected across areas outside the mountains and west of Interstate 26. Temperatures will drop well below freezing early Saturday, so patches of black ice can be expected on Saturday morning where snow accumulates Friday night.
