This incredible ability is made possible through the bear's olfactory bulb, the part of the brain that manages smells. This unique honeycomb structure is lined with over a million scent receptors giving bears a superpower that allows them to locate food, their cubs, mates, communicate with other bears, and avoid danger up to two miles away.
