8/23/21 COVID-19 Update

082321 COVID Cases in Lake Lure Zip Code

There have been (201) Total Positive COVID-19 Cases in the Lake Lure zip code (28746). Sadly there have been 4 deaths. We continue to hold the families of these individuals in our hearts.

Rutherford County has had (8,555) Total Positive Cases as of this date. Please see the attached map. The Percent Positivity Rate is now 19.9% (the average over the past 14 days). Sadly, there have been (225) Total Deaths related to COVID-19 in our County. We lift up the families and friends of these individuals. The total number of people 18 and older vaccinated with at least one dose in the County is now (24,007) 36%. We encourage those who are not currently vaccinated to take the vaccine. Free Vaccines are available in Lake Lure at out local Ingles Pharmacy everyday from 10AM-8PM. In NC there have been (1,166,441) COVID-19 cases as of 8/23/21, with (4,623) considered new cases. Hospitalizations are now back up to (3,342). Sadly, there have been (14,152) deaths related to COVID-19. We are so sorry for the loss these families and friends have experienced. The Percent Positivity Rate for NC is now up to 14.78%.

There are three upcoming COVID vaccine clinic dates in Rutherford County. No appointment necessary. All vaccines are free.
1. Thursday, August 26th from 7:30am-12pm and 1pm-4pm at Rutherford Regional near the Outpatient entrance. They will be using the Pfizer vaccine for 12 years old and older.
2. Friday, August 27th from 9:30am-12pm and 1pm-4pm at Rutherford Regional near the Outpatient entrance. They will be using the Pfizer vaccine for 12 years old and older.
3. Saturday, August 28th from 10am - 2pm at the Pavilion on Park Square (POPS) in downtown Forest City. Sponsored by the Community Health Council of Rutherford County. Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson vaccines will all be available.
