Lake Lure Boat Removal Guidance
The Town of Lake Lure is currently under a State of Emergency.
Washburn Marina Boats:
The Parks, Recreation, and Lake Department staff are reaching out to Washburn Marina slip renters to confirm which boat storage company they would like to do business with to have their boat removed from the water. Please note the following information.
- Due to hazardous conditions, owners are not permitted to remove boats themselves.
- Only approved boat storage companies are allowed to remove boats from the Washburn Marina.
- Approved companies include Lake Lure Marine, Gotcha Covered Boat and Marine, Barry Capps Marine, Driftwood Marine, and Angler’s Choice Marine.
- Boat owners will be asked if they have a trailer they would like to have their boat put on when the boat is removed from the lake.
- If so, owners will need to make arrangements to get their boat trailer to the boat storage company as soon as possible.
- The Parks, Recreation, and Lake Department staff will reach out to the boat storage companies to plan the removal dates for each boat.
- If that date passes and the boat storage company is not able to remove the boat, another boat storage company will be called in to remove it.
- If the slip renter’s boat is on land, heavy equipment will be needed to lift the boat onto a boat trailer. This may increase the cost of the boat removal.
Rumbling Bald Marina Boats:
Boat owners should contact the General Manager for information regarding their process.
