Part-Time Firefighter Position

Lake Lure is seeking qualified applicants for a Part-Time Firefighter at the Lake Lure Municipal Fire Department. Applications may be obtained online, at the Lake Lure Municipal Center, or at the Lake Lure Fire Department.  Applicants should meet the following qualifications: NC Certified Firefighter, current NC Emergency Medical Technician, and valid NC Class B Driver’s License. A successful candidate must also pass a background check and a drug screening. Candidates must provide medical clearance from a physician, complete a physical agility course, and a written firefighter exam. Successful candidates will work closely with three other contracted volunteer departments and must exhibit a professional attitude, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in extreme conditions. This position is as needed and may require 24-hour shifts and weekdays, weekends, and holidays.  Preference will be given to applicants who live within 30 miles of Lake Lure City Limits. This is a non-exempt position with an hourly pay of $13.50 per hour.
