Welcome New Assistant Finance Director Steve Ford

Steve Ford joined the Town of Lake Lure as the Assistant Finance Director in June 2021.  Steve previously has worked in local government for 29 years, primarily with County of Spartanburg.  He has served as Tax Collector, Register of Deeds, and as a Senior Staff Member.  Steve attended Gardner Webb and Clemson University where he received an undergraduate degree in accounting and a graduate degree in public administration. He has an extensive background in finance and brings a wealth of knowledge to Lake Lure.  

Steve is married to his lovely wife Amy and they have two daughters who are attending Clemson University.   His family has enjoyed visiting and staying in Lake Lure for years. He now enjoys coming to Lake Lure every day and is contributing a great deal in his role at the town.  

In addition to his career in local government, Steve teaches courses in local, state, and national government as well a Critical Thinking course for a couple of area colleges. His hobbies include fishing, attending college sporting events, and spending time with his family.

We are thankful to have Steve as the Assistant Finance Director and we know he will provide excellent service to our community.
