On behalf of our community, we invite you to join us for a significant and long-anticipated occasion; the official Ceremony Announcing Reopening Dates for Lake Lure, following the closure after the devastation of Hurricane Helene.

This moment represents not only the restoration of a treasured natural resource, but also the resilience of our region and the collective efforts of local, state, and federal partners who have supported recovery along the way.  We are honored that Governor Stein and Col. Brad Morgan with the US Army Corps of Engineers will be speaking at the event on Friday, May 15, 2026 at 11:00 at the Lake Lure Gazebo in Morse Park.
